CARES supports the development and implementation of collaborativeclinical studies, with the aim of generating reliable evidence that is usefulin surgical clinical practice. We cover the entire methodological pathway, supporting the design andmanagement of randomized controlled trials, prospective or retrospective observational studies, multicenter registries, and large-scale surveys.
We promote projects that integrate new technologies into surgical research, such as artificial intelligence and digital tools for data collection and management.
CARES is committed to disseminating methodological expertise among surgeons, residents, and young researchers through a range of dedicated initiatives.
We organize:
- Clinical Research Methodology in Surgery Course, a comprehensive program aimed at providing the fundamental knowledge needed to actively promote and participate in the planning, conduct, analysis, and publication of clinical studies, aswell as to understand the role of systematic reviews, guidelines, and Health Technology Assessment processes in clinical research and decision-making.
- Summer School, an intensive multi-day event that brings together young researchers from different institutions. It is an immersive experience designed to build skills, foster collaborations, and stimulate the development of new projects.
